We all know about the computer puzzle game known as Bejeweled. It is a game by PopCap Games and was first introduced in 2001. Apart from the original game, there are 3 sequels to this game which have extra game modes and features that make it more exciting. Bejeweled 2 was released in 2005 which can be downloaded and played with Xbox 360, Apple's iOS, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, and Wii. Similar to the original Bejeweled game, even Bejeweled 2 is a Shakiri puzzle game which requires excellent hand-eye coordination. In this article, we are going to discuss some Bejeweled 2 cheats where you can make this game a little bit easier for yourself.
Cheat Codes for Bejeweled 2
The objective of the game is simple; take one gem and swap it with any gem adjacent to it. Align 3 or more gems of the same color and the gems will be removed. This gives you points and your score will increase. Each level or game is timed and you have 1 minute to match as many gems as you can. There are 4 entrance playing modes with explosive new gems. But there are many more modes which can be found in Bejeweled 2 (you will learn more about it later in the article).
Now many players, intentionally or unintentionally, keep searching for Bejeweled 2 and Bejeweled 2 Deluxe cheats. Now I'm not here to judge (you may have any reason to look up the cheat codes) and hence, I would like to just move on and get to the Bejeweled 2 cheats.
Special Effects Cheat Codes
If you're bored of looking at the same background on Bejeweled 2, then here are some fun cheat codes you can apply. You need to type these codes while you're playing the game.
Effects | Codes |
Amber mode | amberscreen |
Green mode | greenscreen |
Colorless gems | blackandwhite |
Gems w/colors | colorswap |
Original Bejeweled gems | oldskool |
Normal colors | normal |
Matrix style background | network |
Space background | starfield |
Wavy background | nausea |
Winter background | xmas |
Toggle border display | noframe |
Slow motion | slomo |
Anytime, you feel that you don't wish to use these Bejeweled 2 cheats and you would like to play the game as is, all you need to do is retype the same cheat codes you typed to get the effects in the first place.
Unlockable Modes Cheat Codes
There are quite a few additional modes in Bejeweled 2 and you don't need to wait forever to find out how they can be unlocked easily. And that's where few tweaks, some specific Bejeweled 2 cheats come in handy. First of all, you have to select "Mystery Modes" in order to gain access these modes. The only issue here lies for the Original Mode (we'll explain that below).
Cognito Mode ~ Sounds like Magneto from the X-Men movie... sorry, back on track. Alright, to unlock this mode, all you need to do is finish the Puzzle Mode and you're in. It's not really a cheat code per se, but it helps.
Finity Mode ~ When you're in the Endless Mode, all you need to do is finish it till level 280. Once you complete this level, you're in the Finity Mode.
Hyper Mode ~ When you're in the Action Mode, all you need to do is reach till level 9. There's one cool feature in the Hyper Mode. In it, the version will be 4 times faster than the Action Mode but the timer is slower.
Twilight Mode ~ To reach the Twilight Mode, level 18 of the Classic Mode needs to be cleared.
Original Mode ~ Now as I mentioned earlier, the Original Mode is slightly different. Go to the main screen and with your mouse, you need to move the cursor in a clockwise manner over the Classic, Action, Endless, and Puzzle Modes. Follow this same order with the cursor and make the cursor touch all 4 modes. You will keep doing so till the Original Mode begins on its own.
